Default 44cqh - Factory Overstamp Scabbard

Matching 44cqh with serial number 4021b. Starting to show some of the strains of late war production. Note the heavy tool marks to the blade. Some along the blade edge others toward the spine even extending across the fuller. Lots of unfinished tool marks along the blade profile. Blade is unevenly blued as well. Also of interest is the scabbard serial number which was initially stamped as 4011b. Digit 2 later factory applied over the second 1 to correct the serial number to match the bayonet. The SWE WaA519 acceptance stamping to the finial ball was also applied upside down. Working on documenting these type of anomalies for the book. Clemen & Jung had very limited production during 1944 making 44cqh examples quite scarce.

To find a decent, matching 44cqh is not an easy task to be sure! I still have not found a "Clemen & Jung" addressed military contract piece. However, I at least have a minty C & J marked behoerden...

Nice one Slash. I like the over strike. Always surprises me they took the time. Like honestly at this stage, no SN was really needed but I they insisted, one would be sufficient.
