    Default Belgian 1889 wwi capture

    Hi,

    just got this rifle in a trade. It is a belgian 1889 captured by Germany durong wwi. Is it possible to identify the belgian and german regiment it was issued to?

    S marking could be for Regiment Grenadiers by Belgians, for German i dont see any marking.b.r.Andy

    Interesting topic and I believe I have a good theory.

    The number 5 is for the German Depot Koblenz. Maybe it went there for the conversion and rework being Koblenz is not that far from the Belgium border?

    Would make sense IMO. But this is just a theory.

    Is it one of the rifles converted to 7.92?
