    Default Help me Identify

    I have inherited a 98 Mauser (it cocks on opening the action) I have tried a serial look up ran in to a dead end Stocks cut down for a sporter. The serial Number is as follows EA 000XX it is a large ring. the number appears on both barrel/receiver. Thanks in advance
    And yes I checked Yugo/Polish/Spanish/Czech. Ran a foul

    I recently Found it it is a Spanish 8 mm Mauser. the EA designation is for Spain

    Yup, defiantly Spanish, probably a model 43.

    Some type of Czech rework, 55 is the date it was done.

    Not sure what other info you're looking for but it started life as a Mauser Oberndorf made rifle. The maker code byf is seen as is the first digit 4 of the year code either 43 or 44. info.jpg
