Default Looking for a forum regarding practical shooting of 98ks

    Hi,

I've looked around on these forums and not really found a section dealing with the practical use of the 98k rifle.

    Questions like

"what can I expect out of my rifle"
"do these 10 things to avoid disappointments"
"try these 10 nifty tricks your graddad never showed you"
"what ammo should I use / avoid"
"how much does ammo selection impact accuracy"

I know how to shoot rifles, I'm relatively new to the 98k.

Find some 198 grain commercial loads, go to the range, and start putting ammo down range. Figure out your rifle and the rest is history. Oh yeah, buy Bruce and Mikes books. WW2 German rifle porn basically

I'm not sure what's available to you commercially in Germany but I'd think Privi (based on it's proximity mostly) and they make a 196 and 198 grain load. I also don't know if you handload or know someone who does but there's that possibility too.

    Guys,

thanks for the suggestions! I have been shooting 196gr Prvi FMJs for training. I only have a 50m range available, but so far, the rifle seems to be shooting straight. ;)

The video I have seem before; great stuff!
