Default 1937 Portuguese contract (m/937-A) sling

Quite recently, I was lucky enough to be able to find an original 1937 Portuguese contract (m/937-A) sling. The wear on the sling is quite typical of that seen on those Portuguese Mauser slings : the leather has darkened and looks oily, no markings or stamps are visible anywhere on either the leather or the metal fittings. The sling was advertized as a "Gewehr 98" sling - maybe the reason why it didn't sell right away...

Tre cool!!! I find these rifles highly under rated, perhaps as most were delivered and I don't think any if many stayed in Germany.

I don't have a sling for mine but now I know what to look for, but then again I live in a dry climate and I find keeping old leather is next to impossible.
