I bought this from a friend of a friend last fall and never got around to photographing it. Nice condition, good price but a bolt mismatch. None the less, let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

I think it's a visually beautiful piece. The blue is deep and rich and appears to be in great condition. Looks to be all matching down to the screws (minus the bolt) and as Bob said that's a great hunk of timber too. Definitely a looker! :thumbsup:

Great info Bob! I have to wonder if it isn’t solely wood tone on the very earliest 98k’s though as they are roughly considered commercial grade production and many appear VERY red which I have to wonder if it isn’t a hold over from commercial practices where alkanet root is used to dye the finishing oil?

Oh and to the OP, that is a killer rifle! I’m sure anyone here would be very proud to own! :thumbsup:
