And as stated:

1945 Manufactured K98 Mauser marked with the late World War II code for Waffen Werke Brunn replacing the earlier dot code.
This rifle appears unissued with no import marks, all correct late features and an excellent bore with sharp crisp rifling

You or Mike better buy it, you'll need to include this formerly unknown variation in the updated Kriegsmodell book....

Upon further inspection, I think that is the rare variant produced by Sherwin Williams Paint...cover the world...in 98k's
 
I think that elongated P is a P covered by a single rune. It came in a kit, like a Mr Potato Head. You can add what ever you want to it.
 
If that receiver serial has been scrubbed and renumbered (to match the bolt), there could be some Federal felony action happening there.
