A little rough, but matching. When I disassemble to clean I will photo the barrel code.

Thanks Frank, beautiful rifle, - personally I like the uncleaned look, many go too far cleaning G98's (not saying someone as experienced as Frank would...)

Also try and do a picture of the lower bolt flat, the FP and acceptance opposite the serial. It is something important to my trends work. Of course the BC would be very helpful too.

If it isn't too much trouble, try and so a clearer picture of the right side of the buttstock, specifically I am trying to be as accurate as possible on trending the acceptance under the cypher, probably a C/D / C/Z, but the top can vary.

more pictures,

More pictures after cleaning. (Note no patina was harmed during this cleaning, only oil and soft toothbrush used)

Paul, No traditional barrel code that I could see. I photoed everything I found under the woodline

This is the next one I will show if there is interest, not German though.

You show part of it in one picture, this range will have the BC in front of the rearsight sleeve. I see "Kr" which is Krupp. Numbers should follow. Often they are weakly struck or partial digits.

Polish is very welcome! I have been researching the subject as thoroughly as possible, - most working on context for my article, the rest will "rest" upon trends... Not much good information written on the subject, but Poland 1918-1939 is a fascinating subject. It is difficult to imagine that the Second World War was fought, or instigated, over Poland... the regime was hardly better than NS Germany, they were surrounded by hostile states for good reason (and nearly as antisemitic as Hitler's Germany) .

Anyway, if you care to delve into Poland, do so in the interwar forum, - or booty rifles (I rarely go there though...) - such topics are very welcome there.

This is the next one I will show if there is interest, not German though.

I'm definitely interested. I have not seen many of these and believe they only made them for 2 ? years and not a large production total.
