This is my first WW! era German rifle. Matching to the screws and stacking rod holder thing. Its duffle cut, so maybe a WW2 vet as well? Everything seems to match. No unit markings that I can find. Nice clear stock markings.

Someone elaborate on what Ive got. THX

Well just from my phone it looks fantastic. Can't wait to see it on a larger screen. Good stuff! I'll also be waiting for Lowe's take

Pretty darn nice Andrew and I'm betting it's a World War I bring back not a World War II. To be honest it's not easy to find an early made kar98a without problems, all matching, and it wasn't updated in the interwar period. A fantastic piece buddy and I bet it will start a new series of collecting interest for you as well!

I think you're spot on Jordan. Wonder if the firing pin is clipped?

Pin isn’t clipped.

I asked around and looked around, and hadn’t found a duffle cut ww1 rifle. But maybe.

I’ve had at least three that I would definitively say we’re duffle cut from WW1. Less common, but out there.

Great so it's not a 'Bond rifle'. I figured as much with the duffle cut

I'm guessing that's not really common from WW1

Dannnng, great rifle Andrew, really nice stock, just something about a crisp proof in walnut..

I agree, very nice and original. Not easy to find, too bad not unit marked, but many aren't... These were made in relatively small numbers (by 98k standards) but not a rare maker-date for what it is (pre-war 98a)
