Post war or original wartime? It’s unmarked. Gray phosphate buckle. Crosshatched leather.

I await your judgement.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve never seen one with markings. Imo, could be late German or Czech, could also be post war Czech, there really is no way to know. I have one too, most late war collectors do. My personal feeling is they are post war Czech but that’s a gut feeling. There are other known post war Czech slings with phosphate buckles.

Kelly, hey postwar/wartime or whatever it’s a cool looking sling

Thanks. It’s really clean looking. So, it’ll go in the bin as “unknown” for now until someday info comes out to confirm what it is. It sure “looks” and seems wartime as it checks off all the boxes for wartime. But, I know that it absolutely could be post war as well.

Just for reference, here is one Andrew sold me a little while back, and said to have come on a woodwork rifle. The sling is worn but the frosch is definitely black. They don’t seem to have the same wear, so whether or not it was a latewar replacement or postwar I suppose there is no way to know, but here it is for comparison.
