Mauser ES350B with serial number above 300000?

Speed's smallbore book lists three Mauser ES350B rifles with serial numbers above 300K. Bruno Guigues lists another. And I know of a couple more. They all have post 1940 proof marks, but not all smallbore Mausers with post 1940 proof marks have serial numbers above 300K. I know of no smallbore Mausers with serial numbers between approximately 225000 and 300000. Does anyone have any information about when and why these rifles were made in this special serial number range?

After French occupation of the factory at end of the war, workers were allowed to assemble and finish sporting arms from whatever existing inventory of actions, parts, and components were available. There are thus a lot of anomalies and odd examples of numbering which appear to be out of sequence.
