Interesting, and I suspect this is an early thing. My four MO-KKWs lack any numbers on the rear sight...

I have a nice later one and I will take a look at it when I can. I have no doubt that there were changes between the early and late Mauser KKW’s.

You don't see this everyday. Was browsing through Simpson's book and found this rather interesting.

My Gustloff KKW serial number is one off from a Gustloff recorded in the S/N study in Simpson's, "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany" (page 283). Simpson's S/N: 226094 and mine: 226095.
