Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

Is this sling wartime correct? It is unmarked, buckle painted black and two stitch with abreviated center stitch. It measures right at 51 inches from end of buckle to tip of leather:

As I was searching examples, it resembles this one I found from tanker1 on 05-20-11 in the picture reference section. His was a qkv44 leather marked sling:

some original "bla1944" slings for comparison of the correct spacing.

It's a postwar sling for the Stg. with an extra hole added. The K98k sling and MP.40 slings were approx. 46" long. They can't cut that one down and have the holes space right so they added a hole. There are other problems too with the construction but I just put the obvious out there.

Be careful as there are plenty aged Stg. slings out there jacked up as K98k slings and sold as such on epay, etc. Sportsmans Guide was selling them for like $9 years back. They are my favorite sling for my shooters as they are early 60s, high quality, cross hatched and loom right.

Yeah, it just didn't feel right and the buckle just looked too well painted to be of WWII era. I didn't even think about the holes being too far apart. It is pretty well constructed though. Might be a neat accessory for the MP44 .22 rifles out there that came out a couple of years ago?

Most of the Stg. slings are Stolla Wien maker marked. Quality wise they are as good as it gets. I use them on my shooters. Good info:
