K98 AR41 ZF41 flatt rail

Hello all,
please find pictures of a scarce rifle to find: early K98 AR41 (Mauser Borsigwalde) ZF41 rifle with flatt rail. N°760 L block. Waa26.
Full matching number rifle. The small german sniper (Luc) knows that rifle. Original blueing damaged.
I am looking for a early ZF41 first type scope with flatt roller to put on the rifle (Three numers, L block).
Best Regards
Xavier

Very Nice Piece , This Variant is an Exceptional find in any Condition . I would be Very Proud to own this Rare Sharp Shooters Rifle . Best Regards

Need some education on this one. On this rifle what exactly makes it rare ( the code or the flat base for scope mount ). If the flat base when did they change the grooved base or was it the rollers in the mount itself. Thanks GR

George-

flat base is much more rare than the beveled. the rollers on the mount itself was also changed to beveled rollers from flat. if memory serves they changed over in 42? could be wrong on that

Hard to find rifle Xavier. Pic stickied. I believe they switched to beveled rail/rollers in 1941.

Thanks Rob, I had to dig out a floppy for some pics on this only one I had ever seen before, had one helluva time getting the scope mount off. All I have for pics for now these were taken a long time ago when I was trying to figure out what it was. AR41 3000l scope mount # 4610 scope marked ZF41/1 kov. I did not put much value on it as the front and rear band along with bayo lug were gone due to duffle cut.Everything otherwise matches. Traded a Winchester 30/30 for it 10-15 years ago. GR

very nice George! cool SN. it looks like in the pic of the mount at some point someone may have tried using a zf41 mount with bevelled rollers on the flat base rather than a mount with flat rollers. may have been why you had a tough time getting the scope on and off?

Rob it does have a bevel roller mount not flat roller so that answers that question. I had to take the screw on the outside of mount off to get it off the rail.

nice!

Very nice and RARE k98.

I have 2 BYF's (43 and a 44/45) with original zf rail but this 1 is very high on my Christmas list.

Thanks for showing.

Mike
