c block svwMB with unmarked stock

Hello everyone,

I would like to have your opinion on this rifle I came accross.
There's only these pictures to go on, as it is not mine.

When I compare it to the references in the Kriegsmodell vol. III book, everything looks great at first glance.
It has a final acceptance stamp on the top of the receiver, but the stock seems to be completely unmarked.

Any thoughts on this?

Also, would you say this is 100% German manufactured (and finalised?) before the French came in?

Thank you

It seems to falls into the French range but is unmarked.... I'd buy it and figure it out later if the price is reasonable.

100% German and very late. Technically it should have the stock acceptance but this late we haven’t seen enough unfinished/ nearly finished guns to have a complete picture, all components and finishes are German so that is what it is even without the final stock acceptance. Is there a small e/135 on the keel?

It appears to have it, just faint.

Cool rifle. There are several guys here who would love to have it.

Yeah, like me. As late as it gets for German production and very cool. I have a c block action very similar to this one but lacking the top final and in need of a stock.

I suddenly got exited when I saw what appears to be part of the wing in the encircled part.

I contacted the owner to ask for any markings on the stock (keel included). He responded that he couldn't see any.
Maybe it's still there, and he worked from memory to respond to me, but ...

I can't stop coming back to this thread and looking at these photos. What a perfect rifle, hope you get it!

interesting, So it was for sale this whole time ? I think the price reflects the demand for an example like this.

Yes, it was put up for auction. The OP uploaded the pictures from the auction and asked for opinions on a rifle which was for sale.

This price is extremely uncommon for Europe and for sure over the normal market level. I have much nicer rifles and I doubt I would get close to that price for any piece.

The same seller also offered a K98k HT sniper rifle which has had the stock replaced and for sure was in rust pitted condition, but got less money for it than for the svwMB. It sold at € 3270, see http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=7275319.

I’m surprised the high turret sold for that much, it’s a rusty pile.
