1941 brown holster M34 Beretta officer's rig

Feel fortunate to post this one. Early Tuesday morning I had a heart attack and died. I had my wife take me to the hospital with a new type of chest pain different than anxiety or heartburn. Half an hour later I was dead - widow maker heart attack. Three rounds of paddles brought me back. Ambulance to the ICU and a stent, and I'm home 2 days later as if nothing happened.

I'm not quite 52 yet. The moral, philosophical, and religious implications will take a LOT longer to work through.

Anyway, there were a few packages waiting for me when I got home. Ranger-1's matched crs43 bayonet for my new matched byf43 K98, a box of 8mm blanks for re-enacting - although that's up in the air at the moment, and this matched 1941 army proofed M34 Beretta rig. Officer's brown holster with only one magazine. Found one in Poland for a lot less than offered here in the US; a week or so to get here. Great carry pistol, but the lanyard ring makes practice shooting very painful for a lefty.

Glad you are o.k. Thank the Lord above. I guess He felt it wasn't your time yet? Prayers that you continue to recover.

Guess what I did. And I drove myself; with my wife’s OK, I might add.

Only 37F, 50 ft NRA target at 50 feet. 1941 Army Beretta. Winchester black box SD was wild. Did better with Remington ball. Flawless.

Colt 1911 delivered to Springfield 11/29/1917. WWB; flawless. Looks like 71 for the Beretta and 77 for the Colt; no X.

Not bad for a guy dead 85 hours ago

Just wow - same happened to my mom about 12 years ago on a trip to florida. If my dad, a doctor had not been with her and the hospital close by she wouldn't have had a chance.

Yesterday we celebrated her 92nd birthday - and she shows no signs of slowing down.

Good to see you also refusing to surrender.

Love those pistols.

Nice shooting for a dead guy.
Love all the beautiful goodies that were waiting for you when you came home. No wonder you rethought the whole dying thing.

A friend of mine drove himself to the hospital when he was having a heart attack. He knew what it was, and told his wife he'd prefer to take his chances driving to either waiting for 911 to respond or subject himself to her driving. (She is NOT a good driver !)

He made it. Glad you did too.

Rig is now complete.

Home after a second four day stint in the hospital. The blood thinners caused me to bleed out from internal catheter related damage to the edge of a transfusion. Off those meds and am stable. Will try to start living now!

Second mag from Poland was waiting for me at home. Identical to the original; don't know if you can tell them apart.

Ammo is Remington 88gr JHP; 955 fps and 190ft/lbs energy, which is identical to the 95 grain Remington FMJ ball. I have used this ammo with great results; the advantage of a JHP but functionality of ball ammo.

Some range time yesterday. Started with Remington 88gr jacketed hps, then 95gr Remington ball. Same specs; 955fps & 190ft/lbs.

Do not use Tula ammo in a M34; has badly jammed in 2 of my M34s. Had to knock it out with a screwdriver and mallet at home. Distance 50 feet on NRA 50 foot targets. SD ammo on orange target.
