Is this a genuine K98 SS sniper? Please help!

Hello,

I don’t know if you can help me but I have come across this rifle and wondered if it is genuine! The only
Photos I have are as below, it is being described as a SS sniper rifle with matching numbers. As can see from photos it uses a short side rail mount with a Hendsolt Wenzlar scope.

As seen the SS stamp is on the gun and mount, cannot confirm for an markings on scope as have not seen it in person yet.

Please help!

Many thanks
Brad

Yeah, steaming pile. Fake SS markings, never was a Mauser Oberndorf short side rail. Junk at any price.

Lol. Nice left side butt stock serial number too. Just how the waffenmeisters assistants did it back then. Wonder who the peddler of this 'deal' is?

this rifle has been posted here twice in two weeks, with different usernames

Yeah.. now 3? Never a good sign. Not sure if 'someone' thinks the info will change? Still strange
