Default Gun Show find 43 ASW

I found this one yesterday. Nice, matching with unsharpened blade, light patina.

Looks like period piece, maybe a little sharpened or proofed to sharpen the blade. b.r.Andy

A very nice, late Horster 1943 example (ww) block. I have a "zz" example. Have always wondered what Horster would have done had they exceeded the "zz" block. My guess is they might have initiated a third series in the "aaa" block, had there been enough production time left in 1943 to do so. Horster could also have decided to produce the next year's run of bayonets early, by going back to the no-letter block and dating them "44"...

Or they could go from a suffix to a prefix and start over.

From the dates we have is clear the E.u.F.Hoerster got a Heeres order about 270000 pcs (one alphabet) in 1941,42 and doubbled the production in 1943 with second series letter, which is very strange to made it by normal production lines a increasing of production by other firms in same period 1942 to 1943 was from 100- to 130/140% and is real, but increasing to 200% is really strange. b.r.Andy
