    Default Luger “P.08” marking . . . .

    I have an “l” block, 1940-dated, Mauser-made, Luger . . .

    Also, a “q” block, 41-dated, Mauser-made, Luger . . .

    The 41 is marked “P.08” on the left-side frame . . . the 1940 is NOT.

Can someone tell me WHEN the “P.08” marking was added?

    Thanks-a-bunch! —Jim

the frame p.08 marking was started in 1941. This continued through till the end of mauser production of the luger.

    Thanks . . . .

I’m hoping someone knows the month it started.

Don't know if it has been narrowed down to a month but the first P.08 marked pistols appear in the early n block of 1941.
