    Default 1942 bcd/ar matching

Ok it was a nightmare getting the bands off.

Edit: I now figured out the problem thanks to Mr Farb. The band spring was back too far.

Thank you. After fighting so hard I wasn't thinking. Someone jammed the band spring under the rear band which explains why my fingers hurt so bad from compressing it. Now it is right.

The wood is dented in a 1/4" behind the front band from being forced back all these years. I'm still happy with it. I think I still got it at a good price.

I wouldnít worry about it! Plenty show scars in that area! Itís a great looking rifle and not exactly easy to find!

That band spring looks like it has been with the rifle forever but Iím thinking it should have a machined unmarked spring for a Ď42 rifle. Nevertheless, it is a real find that Iíd love to have. That was a lucky find wherever you got it. That thing will clean up really nice.

There are no markings on it.

It looks to be a stamped spring from what I can see.

Does indeed look like a nice score. Should clean up nice. What do you plan on using on the metal parts?
