New to the K98 Mauser rifle

I just bought a K98 on an online auction. A lot of the numbers are mismatched, a friend told me that it might just have been a parts guns. The stock has an extra sling mount I have never seen on a K98 before. Lastly, I was hoping that someone might know what kind of cleaning rod it is. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

Looks like a post-war French K98k stock indicated by the French-style side sling mount and the hex stacking rod. Original rifle was a 1944 Brunn 1 K98k. I'm guessing someone restored this barreled action with a French stock

I agree the metal looks real nice. More learned help please. The stock at the front looks pretty standard but in the butt area the grain is real wide. Start of 'scrub oaks'? The ring pattern almost said elm but nice enough pores. Phloem?

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Thank you for the help. I have now been able to find other information about those rifles. Now, my question is should I replace the stock with a more original pre-war type? Any opinions?
