I have been searching hi and low through all the books and Volumes. There is nothing about this Marine Cartouche on my Port. Contract rifle. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have been told it is The Portuguese Navy? But still no definitive evidence.

I know what it is, but there is no info about it anywhere that I have been able to find. The Link you sent does not discuss it just acknowledges it?

Portuguese Naval Acceptance Stamp

The "anchor" motif is documented as the Portuguese naval issue symbol.
While not exact, the association with the Port. navy with respect to the M1941 is hard to deny, especially
given the fact that the German Kriegsmarine acceptance stamps are completely different in style.

The images attached show two versions of Port. Naval acceptance marks on Lugers, and a typical German Kriegsmarine acceptance stamp.
