    Default I Got Wood...Kriegsmodel;

    A couple weeks ago I posted that I was thinking about a repo kriegsmodel model stock for my byf 45 action. Well thanks to some insomnia I got a complete stock with; hand guard, bands, cap and screws. The stock does have a chunk out of it near the rear sight and it does appear to have been sanded at some point, as the trigger guard sits a little proud. However the the hand guard has a WaA135 proof on it. All of that for under a Benjamin.

    Here’s some photos.

    Always nice to get a project together! Insomnia really does pay off haha. Just for reference that’s a Brünn I stock and so are the bands.

    Nice deal on that stock! You sold the MO kriegs bands that were originally with your rifle? Dam I need a some.
    In thanks for you all in the forums, I offer this, albeit small:
    If anyone has any questions regarding garage doors and openers, feel free to ask. Been working on them for 25 years.

    They weren’t the originals and did not work with the screws. I picked them up as a set after I acquired the action. I also wanted to keep the stock set complete.

    I’d guess the stock and bands are from an early postwar Czech rifle myself, which technically would be Brünn I. The bands you sold were byf45 bands.

    I had my suspicions of this. For 70 bucks it’s kind of a place holder till if/when I find an MO.

    Still a great price. Are you sure the handguard inspection is 135? Seems like an armorers part though which would be correct for a late Mauser.

    Yes, unmistakeably Czech shaped, bolt cut and the proud forward TG (despite the sanding) is always a Brünn I feature, even next door at Bystrica the stock is cut dramatically different in this area. I was thinking it might have been a super late stock (given the lack of disc and acceptance traces) that was sanded but Mikes thought is probably more likely. A look in the barrel channel might help determine if it’s wartime or not but I’m not sure if they continued some of the same practices postwar.
