Can anyone tell me just WHAT that little “button” is made of, that resides in the back-side of the takedown lever?
It appears glued into the recess of that portion of the lever that bears upon the side-plate.
It looks like hard rubber or Bakelite, and is on my 1940-era, Mauser-made, P08.
