Almost got the rifle taken apart tonight hardest component right now is the bolt it's locked up. Going to have to soak it so I can engage the Safety in the middle to the take down position.

Going through this rifle I could tell some components were replaced. I believe whoever originally was issued this rifle when it left the factory did not live to tell the tale. Judging by some of the components that was replaced this rifle was heavily damaged in the field at one time.

Hoping to get this one posted by next month but this is going to take some time to get her cleaned up properly and carefully.

Matter of fact, now after seeing the top of the receiver. I bid on this one, man that thing looks good. I couldn’t get good photos out of the guy for anything. Glad to see you got it, congrats!

I had a hard time getting photos out of him to Sam. The only reason I thought the stock was matching is I could see those nice Saxon stock proofs from one of the pictures. From the condition this rifle is in I got a feeling it was a former Legion gun.

Well I worked on the barreled action and receiver for almost 2 hours today. I've gotten the receiver to look about the best it's going to get. It has some deep patina on top of the receiver as well as some deep scratches from a long time ago but it definitely is a big Improvement. I'm definitely going to be excited how this rifle will look after a long project is completed. I still can't get the bolt safety turn will take some more soaking and I got the rear sight to finally bulged today. Was locked up with old gunk.

To the new collectors remember slow and steady is the key. Take it easy and don't overdo.

That thing has a ton of nice blue left!

Indeed it does I guess that old gunk and dirt protected it lol! Did I tell you I found a dead spider in the barrel chamber this evening. Not kidding either!

Well I finished cleaning the barrel and receiver yesterday as well as cleaning the barrel out. Even though this rifle was as dirty as it was the rifling is in great condition. Tonight I finished cleaning up the trigger guard group as well as the bolt group. Finally got it to come apart. After a couple days of oil soaking I was finally able to get the bolt to disassemble. Project just keeps coming along slowly but I'm seeing a lot of progress.

Well it's officially cleaned up and put back together. I have a couple of the things I'm going to do to the rifle I'm going to get the firing pin fixed because it was clipped, have a little bit of repair to do on the original handguard, and I'm going to get the holes in the stock plugged up when it was mounted onto a wall. But those things have to be done by someone who knows how do that more than I do. This is just the basic Cleaning and Restoration job. Took well over 12 hours to do everything but I am very pleased how it turned out.
