A pre-1930 Mauser ES350 under restoration

I just purchased an pre-1930 Mauser ES350 #677xx which is in bad condition! Missing the rear sight and a non-original stock. It has a 27.5 inch (700mm) grooved barrel with no numbers. The metal has about 50% of the original blue and a lot of surface rust but little pitting. Normally, I would not consider a restoration on a gun in this condition, but this is a very rare rifle. So, I am looking for a replacement stock and rear sight. Any ideas? mike.johnson@rrpc.org

Thought that looked like a Simpson listing, I think there actually might be a rear sight for one of these floating around one of the common auction sites, just can’t remember where I saw it right now. Stock on the other hand, probably time to get to whittling. I almost never buy anything off Simpsons but I grabbed a Simson .22 last week :biggrin1:

I think I remember seeing a loose sight as well, but I am not sure that it would fit this rifle. I think it was eBay. I'll check and re-post if I find it.

No it was either closer to correct or exactly the one for this, can’t recall. I sold one recently as well so there are definitely some loose ones floating around.

This is an ES350B sight, not the ES350 which I am looking for.

Your going to be hard pressed to find one lose from the rifle. Your best bet is to look in Europe. I've found some hard to find parts for reasonable prices that would bring a premium here.

I'm currently out of town so I don't have access to my bookmarks for the european part sites, but when I get home I'll post them here.

I've gotten a KKW rear sight off eBay. So you can get lucky you just have to be patient and diligent.

Here is a DSM sight, but its for 4mm he needs one for the patrone rifles. Specifically, the one that moves up and down the barrel.
