Hello,

I haven’t seen this designation on the receiver rail, ‘waffenfabrik mauser’ only
This mauser rifle (supposed to be Std modell, for decoration) is in Japan, and someone showed me those photos.
I am wondering why this rifle don’t have ‘standard modell’ designation instead..
Do you have some opinions about its history?

Standard Modell

Per the 4th edition of the Ball book, there are 2 images of Chinese copies of a Banner and 1907 rifle.
The sidewall marking is also an anomaly, as none of that type are documented. The side rail marking nearly
always carries a reference to Oberndorf as this one does not.

Bands and hardware just look to crude to be fabricated by Mauser so I hold my earlier conclusion of a Chinese copy.

I currently checked the 2nd edition which I only have, and I agree with you..
I think the seller cheated on my contact in Japan who is actually going to buy this rifle.
Thank you for your opinion!

Standard modell, likely a Chinese copy

I took these close-up photos of another Mauser today, and found a reverse swastika on left side!

I do not know any type of Mauser that stamped it yet, but well.. it seems to be same marking with below one.

AND OMG

ZhongZheng rifle has same backward swastika.. must be same model with above photos of fake Std modells.
