    Default Identify and info please!

Bought this matching p38 many years ago at a gun show. No import marks. Is definitely clean and appears largely unused. Too clean...refinished? Iím skeptical of its level of finish. What does the collective make of this? Having seen others, this is too nice. Opinions welcome! Thanks in advance.

Honestly your photos arenít good enough to decide if itís refinished. Take the best photo you can of the proofing in the right slide, the 2 e/135 inspections and the Eagle, that will tell the story as the firing proof and 1 inspection should be through the finish. Itís not too hard to find p.38 pistols in super nice condition so that isnít surprising.

Yeah, that helps - I'd say it's refinished from those photos. The firing proof (eagle) and last inspection should be through the finish and they look "soft" and full of blue.

Barrel also gives it away as a refinish as the mill marks are gone and it’s just too smooth.

Agree with the above comments and opinions. Too smooth and too shinney for an ac43. Soft inspector's stamps.

Late to this party. Definitely buffed and refinished. Mauser bluing has a really specific look and this is not it.

the true sign its a re finish is the red and white are gone in the safety area

someone did a good job, they left the locking block white

sorry its a shooter, $ 500-600 range, it lost all its collect ability the minute they touch it, they should have left it alone

got make these things look purdy
