BYF 44 at local gun show

A guy walked into the local show Sunday with a BYF 44 that he was asking $2400 for. It certainly seemed refinished to me. Were any of the cupped buttplates blued on these, at least before the Russians refurbished them?

Agree with above! Plus $2400 too much for a refinished gun.

Yes, there are blued buttplates, they aren’t too common, but regardless that sounds like over 2x too much for a sanded rifle.

Yeah byf44 aren't exactly rare so this would have to be something really special.
