ERMA DSM with elm stock

Took this down today to see if any other parts were numbered. They were not. Some process numbers on the bottom of the receiver. Only serialed parts are the receiver, bolt, barrel and the safety has the last three. Only mark on the inside stock is that oval stamp in front of the receiver if anyone knows what that is.

great example ! and its odd to see elm used this early. Most elm stocked rifles turn up late on the last run @ Erma and Mauser.

The small oval stamp could be an Erma mark or whoever made the stock ? Wasn't in-common for the stocks to be made elsewhere.

Maybe Bob's new book as a section with stock stamps in it ?

The oval mark is an Erma mark, with the name in script. It is more commonly seen on stocks of their sporters, but it does show up on some of the DSMs.

Beautiful rife. Never saw a trainer in elm, what a nicley figured stock. That one is definatley a keeper. I have see byf 43’s with elm stocks like M99 said. Used to own a mostly matching Romanian capture with the birds pinged out that had an elm stock.

Love that elm as well, great looking rifle! My first rifle was elm, a Swede m96, always have liked it.
