    Default Bayonet review

Thinking about purchasing this bayonet for $125. I know the scabbard is not matching and looks to be restamped. The blade is marked "37". What do you think?

I would not buy a bayonet unless it matches and is unsharpened. I wouldn’t pay more than $75.00 for a nonmatching bayonet.

    Default Unmatched WKC

Is there something about that one that speaks to you? Unmatched examples usually do not go that high.

Here is force matched piece, so the scabbard was reserialed to bayonet 5001? which would be correct by germans, problem are here the grips as here plastic which is not proper for early 1937 WKC, other point the screw heads are in wrong position, so the grips were dissasembled and replaced? question by who, when by germans and refurbished so their should be have new assembly numbers. A force matched could be go to 125USD? question is it was done by germans in war?? b.r.Andy

Yes it should be visible marking under grips, to made a definitive opinion, the wrong side screw oriented are certainly not period, so it could be made postwar too??. Serial force matching, should be compared on fonts and other details. I believe the reserialing could be done post 1943 too, i have presented here a bym41 with reserialed scabbard, so when it was done in regimental or divisional workshop no problem to realise in late 1944 too. b.r.Andy
