Looking for anything kar98k with serial number stamped 9347. My kar98 is all pieced together with mismatched serial numbers. I would like to restore with as much matching as possible.
BNZ. 4
While it would be relatively easy to restore a bnz 4 with maker and period correct parts, Matching serial numbers would be nearly impossible. bnz rifles produced in the latter part of 1944 had many parts, bands, floor plate, stock, that were no longer factory numbered. Is there a letter following the SN on your rifle? that would determine what parts on your rifle should have a serial number.
No, it does not follow up with a letter. Only the 4 digit number. None of my parts except the actual bolt itself has Russian capture marks. The bolt itself seems to have been “covered up” but none of my Nazi markings, SS marks, etc have been etched out or stamped with an X and carved serial numbers.
Hello and welcome! Let’s see some pictures of your rifle and the various markings. I agree with the above, it would be easy to get “period correct” parts but almost impossible to get the matching serial number.
