    All the last mentioned piece has no wearing of bayonet frog on scabbard, possible depot capture, and never used, some missmatched possible by GIs when bringing home. b.r.Andy

    I think I have a similar X block I will dig it out. Those are some gnarly scabbard welds. I am a sucker for anything that was bottom of the barrel!

    I am struck by the fall off in metal finish quality at the end of 44. I have a q block from CanadianAR and the differences especially pommel and fuller are quite startling. Even the edge grind is more grainy and aggressive. They surely did stop caring about 'looks' at this point. Nice late war examples shown.
