1911A1 Ithica

This pistol belonged to my father, I think it was mfg in 1944 and the story was it was purchased surplus and it was an MP Pistol and it came with the black leather holster and belt. It was the 50s and he was in the Air Force and stationed in AK, a listening post in the Aleutian Islands. He would track the radio broadcast of Russian Pilots and his buddy was a Russian linguist and would translate. I have the packing slip with the AK base address and the total bill....about 50 dollars. He let me and my brother take it shooting when we were just kids. I learned to shoot automatics with this and an Astra 600/43. Most of the wear came from me. He gave it to me as he got older.
