Very astute to point out the high ridges and points on the paint that should have long since been knocked off or worn smooth. Other problems:
1) The exterior camo condition does not match the well worn interior and liner;
2) The colors don't look quite right on the camo;
3) If you look close, it appears as if the kamo blotches are carefully painted around old wear to the helmet's original finish. A dead giveaway on fakery is camo over old wear and no wear on the camo.
The best humpjobs are on original helmets. In this case, a not terribly hard to find Luftwaffe helmet in average condition in an undesirable size 62 (it's a small size but not THE smallest size 60) goes from a $450-550 lid to $3000 asked with some strategically placed Van Gogh textured blotches and perhaps even the name to sex it up, which also looks unusual. All my opinions of course. For comparison:
