Does this bnz rune look real

Unfortunately not real. Single rune rifles do not have a letter suffix and don’t have final acceptance on top. Someone boosted it. Bolt numbering is bad as well, correct style but not Steyr font. Sorry.

Actually pretty surprised this came from Simpson LTD.

I have spent over 8k with them in the last few months. They advertised it as a single rune rifle all matching numbers. I have been away for quite sometime and wanted to start back collecting. I sold off all my guns as I was dealing with cancer and had to have several surgeries and needed the money. I’m very disappointed in them but they do have a return policy. I hope this is just a lack of Knowledge both parties and not deception.

i'm not, i bought a byf 42 luger from them 8 years ago that i had to return. not refinished but dipped black. couldn't tell from photos. i hear they are very reputable so this one got by them i guess.

Or this rifle. I’m sorry for the trouble, I’m just terrified of getting burnt again.

Hard to say form those photos.. As far as dealers they just pass along what they buy... Good, bad or indifferent... Pre98 has some stinkers as well.. these guy's charge a major premium for their stuff.

I just cant take Simpsons site so I never look there..

Willy, welcome back brother. Sorry this happened. I agree with the analysis here so I've nothing to add. The guys here will take care of you and help. I think K98k collecting is healthy and good, but it requires sticking close to this site as a resource. It sounds self-serving or puffery but it's absolutely true. The level of knowledge and assistance here is international, the best on this planet, transparent and uncensored, and vetted.

I'd avoid the dot 1943 Willy, I called them about that rifle earlier this week just to see what was up with it. The handguard doesn't match the color of the stock and neither is "dot" marked, in addition the right side of the butt is not marked with an eagle/H near the takedown disk. I believe for 1943 all these should be present, so it seems like a stock/handguard mismatch. At the very least it's a handguard m/m so probably not worth what they're asking.

Apologies, after consulting the book it appears this combination is possible. I'd still be wary as they are not as reliably trained in these matters as our senior forum members here.
