    Default Original sling?

I bought this k98 a couple years ago with this sling attached. L&F marked buckle with no other marking...no cross hatch. Does this look like an original to you? Thanks

Its my understanding that not all original slings had cross hatching. L&F is one of the most common ones to find. Looks original to me.

I have had many with no cross hatch, many of those were simply stretched and worn from use and the cross hatch is obliterated. Best indicator is look at the back side near the buckle where it's stitched. If it had cross hatching it will be evident there and on the "face side" at the tip near the stud holes.

Thanks again for the info. This is a stock and bolt mismatch. I have fired it with low power handloads as is has a stock repair and looks like it has had a ruff life. I would like to acquire a better example at some point. This is the hub of K98 knowledge.
