Germanized Vz24 Takedown disc marking

Gentlemen, I recently picked up a Germanized VZ24. The stock appears to be from a VZ23, it was renumbered to match on the underside it has an added bolt takedown disc which is marked with an “Eagle over 4”. There are no depot markings on the wrist. Does the eagle over 4 denote a particular depot or facility? Thank you, Marc

No, just spare parts made by BSW for the depot system. Is the wrist plugged?

There does not appear to have been a side swivel. I have attached the auctions photo.

It’s also worth mentioning the bolt handle, buttplate, front band and keel of stock are the only matching numbered parts, I believe they are German renumbered. The rear sight base has another set of numbers that I believe are Czech. The other parts appear unnumbered but are all Czech made. I’ve seen varying levels of numbered parts on these Czech reworked rifles.

Vz.23 buttstock, lower swivel is rotable to side, so no needed side sling attachment. Its a Vz.24 metall parts added into Vz.23 butt, bolt is not czechoslovak. b.r.Andy
PS it there visible old serial on VZ.butt end left side?

The old Czech stock number is still visible under staining. It doesn’t appear to match. Any ideas on bolt origin? Yugo or Polish perhaps?

The stamp is marred, but it kind of looks like an FN bolt that was renumbered to match the rest of the rifle.

Thank you Pat. Has anyone seen another German reworked 24 in a 23 stock? Also is it common for the bottom metal and rear bands to be unnumbered?

Yes a use of older Vz.23 stocks were observed on some german Vz.24 refurbishment, it would be interesting to known the old serial of butt, is there letter D as prefix?
The bolt is real FN production. b.r.Andy
