My First Rifle

I've been meaning to get this rifle out to the range, so I would have an excuse to thoroughly go over it. My grandfather gave me this rifle when I was six years old. I do not know how it when he came about it. Unfortunately, in his gift to his six year old grandson, the stock got cut down and disc removed, a peep sight added, and original sights removed. This rifle shoots exceptionally well and is very smooth. Length of pull isn't the most comfortable anymore, but it's still fun to get it out and remember where it all started. It seems to be a bolt mismatch, I would love to find out anything more about my rifle from the wealth of knowledge that exists here.

A great gift for sure... but as you mentioned a completely sporterized BSW dsm34. This is a common fate of a lot of mauser type rifles.
