Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone has a video clip of the actual hammer forging of a K98k receiver? Maybe from Die Deutsche Wochenshau?

bolt welding
These are the 2 areas that had to be patched.
The fractured part of the bolt body luckily broke off in one section and was welded back in place.
The locking area for the bolt shroud lock pin was completely gone so we took a donor section to replace the missing area.

That is some first class work right there. Hard to tell even knowing where the break was.

Hard to believe I held this rifle at the SOS show it's really something to see it brought back like this. It just goes to show you can bring back history.

That is a pretty remarkable resto. How did you remove the rust? Electrolysis?
