Bout time You post pics of it . I never got to see this one at the SOS Show before You took off . Mel has/had some SCREAMERS and this no surprise

Mel is a great guy to deal with and has some great stuff. Nice rifle but still not as cool as what I got from him.

bolt on rifle

The bolt has a guide rib but is not from Astrawerke.
No Mauser revisor marks so from who?

Thanks. Another unmarked bolt. I only have them recorded in byf45's so far. It would be interesting to see if they show up earlier and later.

Round gas ports I'm assuming?

It's a really nice rifle and the wood knot is my favorite part. I am currently working on a summary of the laminate production and this stock shows an important detail which plays a crucial role in the selection and processing of the wood layers, it's a perfect example picture.

Current thread

Stephan, I will see if there is a laminate code and date behind the buttplate.

B.

You'll find "c" marked laminated stocks on late bcd Gustloff rifles as well, stained and unstained, rough and smooth.

byf45 'c' stock code

Stock date code is 2 39 44 Br.

39th week of 1944, puts its completion in late September 1944.

Bruce, thank you very much and I have expected the laminate code "Br".

It's also great we have the stock completion date, which is September 26, 1944.
