Default A few questions about DR and DRP K98

    Hello, everyone:
I have a few questions about DR and DRP marked K98 rifles...
Were the middle barrel bands numbered in military style?(last 4 digits of the serial)
Were the hand guards numbered or can be unnumbered as well?
    Thank you!

Default DR and DRP Banner stock fittings serialization

The front and rear bands on all Banners were not factory numbered at Mauser.
The only markings that can be found are 'S28' which is the designation for early DWM supplied parts.

Some ChdA and DRP rifles can be found with 2-digit serials on the bands but these were
applied at the field or depot level.

I have not encountered any Banner rifles with 4-digit serials on the bands.
Thats not to say they dont exist, but if found were most likely applied at a depot.

Almost all handguards carry the full 5-digit or 4-digit full serial number.
I have seen random rifles with the handguards un-numbered.
So the norm would be full serial numbered (handguard and stock barrel channel).
