Hello everybody.
Im new on this forum. Im from Denmark, so sorry, but english isnt my first language.
I bought a Mauser DSM, 18 weeks ago, just because it was different than other 22 lr. and because of the Mauser action. Normally i shoot Swedish Mausers and I really like old Mausers.
I just got the paperwork last week, so had some time to read about what i bought.
There is a cheek rise on it, but I think its made later, but its made very well and there are no colour difference between the stock and the cheek rise.
The lacquer is very old, and there are cracks in it. It has the normal stock and as you can see on the pictures the sling holes has been covered.
1: When do you think the cheek rise was made, and should I leave it there ?
2: There are a lot of worm holes on the but stock. Should i do anything about that ?
Thanks for having this forum. Its very nice, that there is a place to get answers and talk about theese interestering guns.
In Denmark or Europe, there are not a lot of theese smallbore Mausers, and almost ALL knowledge is in the US.
P.S. The scope was on it, when i bought it ;-)
The rifle shoots very well, and im very impressed with it. After zeroing the scope, its easy to shoot within 1,3" across on 55 yards, and have only shot it that one time.
I was reading about theese smallbores after I bought this one, and was waiting for the papers, I found them very interesting and when i found a super nice Wehrsportgewehr i bought it. They are not that easy to find over here.
I will show it on this forum, because i have a few questions about it, so you can see it there if you want to.
Have a nice day all of you.
