Hello,
I believe this is a mukden Mauser from the early 20th century so if I am wrong my apologies.
Anyway I got that gun at a local gun shop for $150 last year and it was sold to me as a standard Chinese type 24 Mauser? I didn't think much of it and bought it? Anyway the gentleman that brought it home lived about 20 miles away from me near Detroit and was in the Navy in 1945 and brought it back from Siapan in 1946.
He passed away about a year ago and his son sold it to the gun store owner for 50 bucks as he was "anti gun" and didn't want it..the owner tried to convince him to keep it as it was his dad's.
Anyway the stock is cut and is sportarized but it is in a good home.
I was told it may be the only mukden mauser papered in the USA as they aren't that commonly found.. either or I'm happy with this piece of local history
