Hi All

Here are my new G98A Erfurt 1918 (9325 h)
All parts matching exept bolt. Came with a G98 strait handel bolt mismatching to it self.
I have been lucky to find a correct one ( but ofcouse stil mismatch)
The new bolt is in the white and the same with the magazine follower with no bolt stop.
So I leave it that way.
unfortently the stock have been sanded some time in its history. At least there are no stamp visible, exept Serial number on the butt and inside barrel Chanel and handgaurd.
Barrel seems to be the original and in super condition.
Headspace is also correct with the new bolt.
The rifle is bought as a shooter.
The sling looks like Original style? It was not on the rifle. It was on a Carcano 1916 cavalery carbine I bought some years ago. But somebody have made 3 extra holes in it to fit the short carbine.-
Original there was 9 holes.

It have Stamps in top of the butplate: S.H. 601. Anyone kwon about that?

S.H. # is a unit marking, almost certainly police, specifically municipal (city) police forces of Hannover. (Görtz-Bryans is a good resource on the subject of Republican era markings)

I just took delivery of a 1916 Erfurt Kar98a. Mine also has the follower beveled. Is that correct for these guns?

Imperial/factory follower doesn't stop bolt when empty.

Republican and NS era depots altered follower to stop bolts when empty. So too American hunters who brought rifles home, many sporters have notched followers to stop the bolt.

Typically if German done the follower is also blued. If bright metal and notched "probably" done by an American hunter/sporter. Though it could be argued that a German modification (WWI) is just as possible.

Mine is in the white. Except for the bolt, the gun is all matching with no post WWI parts that I can see. The bolt is a proper K98a bolt and is all matching. The follower is stamped 25, the serial number of the gun, but is also stamped 08. That makes me think it is a force matched part but the 08 is not lined out.

Mine is also in the white
Rifle number is 9325
And the follower are stampd
25 on the upperside
And 93 on the underside.
