Who made this cleaning rod?

Any ideas on who made this cleaning rod? It's one of the shorter early models. I am unsure if the first character is either an "S" or an "8" to my eyes. Thank you for any and all help.

Hi
It is "S" in my opinion, probably Simson/Suhl.
The cleaning rod should be for a Portuguese M 937 A short rifle.
Later code small "s" stands for Dynamit Nobel.
