Saw an interesting G98 today.

1913 Amberg with a Radom marking at Top Dead Center on the receiver ring. Cut down stock and completely mismatched. Full length barrel and roller coaster sight. Never seen one before. No 1920 mark either.

Exactly. Only a bit forward on the ring. Is a rifle with this harder to find, or is the Radom marking more in the "Hmmm, that's interesting " column?

Update. Selling a safe queen to raise bread for this rifle. Prewar G98s don't exactly grow on trees. Pics to come; understood that it will always be a restored rifle. Haven't had a long Mauser in a while and as I recall the long ones are more pleasant to shoot.
