There was a bayonet which sounds very close to your description on Ebay 'bout two weeks ago. It had a large, straight-winged eagle on the blade spine, but don't recall there being a Police letter either below or to the side of the bird. Bids got into the low $300.00s, but after about four days of a seven-day listing, (with closing date of 8/18/6:22 PM/item# 113848004440), the bayonet disappeared. Could not bring it up under either listing#, or closed items which had been sold by the same seller. Typically, this indicates (to me) someone got to the seller, he pulled the item, and sold it out the back door. I, too, have long sought one of the P Weyersberg, 1940 Police contract pieces as well. However, where bidding was headed, figured it was going to go for well over what I would have paid anyway...
