Ss is nothing to do with The SS if that is what you are asking. I can't make out the pics, but I've had Mauser made Brazilian Mausers marked S.s. someone had a similar question in another thread recently and I think it was explained honestly don't remember what it was.

No it’s a jugo capture it has the serbian logo and preduzece 44 marked far is i know it was for high ranked people to shoot in the military so no war history after 45.

My question is what these S.s and under a single S means i know old steyr m95 had them when they got a new caliber but this is an g98 and the second question why my bolt has two different numbers one is the serial number and there is also an S marked?

If you click on the thumbnails they get pretty big.

Thanks. I had to click follow link not view in gallery. They are actually very high quality pics.

On the right side of the receiver I am pretty sure that is part of the Yugo applied serial but I don't really collect Yugos.

The rear sight it's sS which I thought it was normally Ss not sure what the additional third S is. I would still guess Spitzer if no one else comes along with definitive answer I can check some books tomorrow.

The S on the bolt I would say is from the original serial and other numbers were applied later? Edit:. Probably not it is the wrong direction. Again I am going to guess ammo related.

Im pretty new in these g and k98 theme
The fact for the one S with spitzer could be right since it’s a g98 with 8x57is. If you would look in your Books for the S s it would be pretty nice.

quite interesting that’s in europe forums these rifle is very rare not in the states dough.

So the schweren Spitzgeschosse also heavy pointbullets where for mg34 and 42 because it was for anti aircraft fire. These rifle is full of history and it gets just more questioning :D
