It came on my Banner 1933 DR that I will post soon. Looks like what I think is as an 03a3 hood but smaller.

Many thanks! That begs the question, could it have been attached pre 1945, or more to the point, has anyone seen one on a K98 before, and if not should I remove it and put it on my Mauser DSM?
